Global Studies in the Arts and Humanities

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Studies in the Arts and Humanities provides students with the tools to understand the representations, values, concerns, and debates associated with globalization. Course work emphasizes current global situations reflected in literary, philosophical, artistic and linguistic practices. Graduates will be equipped to navigate the complex challenges of our high-tech, increasingly interconnected global world. 

They will be prepared for careers in publishing, arts institutions, content-development, non-profit and community organizing, international education, media analysis, non-governmental organizations engaged in global activities as well as post-graduate studies or law school.

Requirements for the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Global Studies in the Arts and Humanities

  1. The University requirements for bachelor’s degrees as described in the  Undergraduate Education section of this catalog; 120 credits, including general elective credits, are required for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Studies in the Arts and Humanities.

    The University’s Tier II writing requirement for the Global Studies in the Arts and Humanities major is met by completing Global Studies in the Arts and Humanities 450.  That course is referenced in items 3. a. below.
  2. The  requirements of the College of Arts and Letters for the Bachelor of Arts degree. 
  3. The following requirements for the major:
    a. Both of the following courses (6 credits):

    b. Complete at least 9 credits from the following:
