Enrollment and Term End Reports and the
Program and Course Reports.
If the data you are seeking are not found within the reports, a data request can be submitted for the additional information.
If you are requesting data to conduct a survey, you must first obtain approval from the Survey Committee. To begin this process, please visit
https://ir.msu.edu/surveys if you have not already done so. Upon approval, you will receive an email confirmation. This approval email must be uploaded with your data request submission. Failure to include the approval email will result in the denial of your request. For any questions, please contact

All data requests are subject to approval and compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and university policy. Delivered data may only be used for the purpose as stated in the request. The recipient of data is solely responsible for the confidentiality of the information as established by FERPA and Michigan State University Guidelines Governing Privacy and Release of Student Records.

Requests should only be made for data under the purview of the Office of the Registrar and not Admissions or Financial Aid data, e.g. Pell eligibility. If requesting Admissions or Financial Aid data, please visit Academic Services: Request for Student Data for more information.

Sets of data will be provided but no extensive formatting, data manipulation or calculation (e.g. time to degree) will be made. If needed, formatting must be completed from the provided data set by the requestor.

Data requests are not queued for processing until fully approved. Fulfillment can, during busy times, take two or more weeks.
