A case-based course that examines the role of accounting in the development and implementation of corporate sustainability strategies. Topics include shareholder, stakeholder, and regulatory governance; the challenge of designing decision useful DEI metrics that reflect corporate strategy; the risks and benefits of strategic choices regarding carbon offsets, internal carbon prices, carbon capture, and greenwashing; effecting change in corporate and consumer cultures; and the social justice effects of corporate decisions..
