University Advising, a unit within the Office of Undergraduate Education, coordinates the academic and student affairs functions for Exploratory Preference (EP) and Exploring Business Preference (EBP) majors. These non-degree-granting majors support students from 0-55 credit hours in discovering their interests, identifying major opportunities, and designing academic paths to degree declaration. The Exploratory Business Preference major is open to students (0-55 credit hours) applying for standard admission to the Eli Broad College of Business. EBP students are exposed to business-related and adjacent majors across the institution. The Exploratory Preference major is available to students (0-55 credit hours) who are exploring a single major or a combination of majors, excluding Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. University Advising’s Exploratory Advisors partner with students in a shared journey of discovery and growth that is authentic, meaningful, and tailored, assisting students in declaring a major by or before earning 56 credits.
