Michigan State University Electronic CEU Information
Official Continuing Education Unit (CEU) records are now available in an electronic format.
The electronic CEU allows recipients to view the official document on a secure website instead of waiting to receive a paper document via U.S. Mail.
I have a Secure Access Code and wish to view a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) record.
The Process
Once the sponsoring department has submitted all participant documentation, CEU participants with an email address on file will receive an email from the Michigan State University Office
of the Registrar. This email will inform the participant how to access the official, electronic CEU record.
The email will always come from
ROCert@msu.edu.
The University cannot control if a participant's email system marks the CEU email as spam. If you
believe you should have received an email but did not, please contact
ROCert@msu.edu
once you have checked your spam folder and find the email is not there.
The participant will be sent an email with a
secure access code and a link to a
secure MSU website.
The web site URL is:
https://reg.msu.edu/CertifiedDocuments/eCEU.aspx
Participants can also access the electronic CEU site from the
Office of the Registrar Home Page by
clicking on the "Student Services" tab and then the "Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Participant Records" link.
Upon secure access code validation, the electronic CEU will be presented in the Portable Document Format (PDF).
If needed, download the free
Adobe Reader.
Participants may share the secure access code with others, as desired.
Advantages of the Electronic CEU
Viewing the electronic CEU directly on the Office of the Registrar website ensures recipients they are receiving the accurate, official record from Michigan State University.
Participants will be able to view the record in less than one (1) business day versus waiting for a paper record to arrive by U.S. Mail.
Security
The Secure Access Code is a very long, random string of characters, numbers, and symbols that is only sent to the participant.
After multiple incorrect secure access code validation attempts, the specific IP address is blocked from accessing the system.
Records are only available for viewing for 180 days.
Records can be viewed 20 times.
Participants who need to view the record after 180 days and/or more than 20 times should contact CEU Office at
ROCert@msu.edu.
Questions
Is receiving a copy of my CEU record this way safe and is my data secure?
Yes, it is safe to receive your CEU record electronically. The Secure Access Code is only sent to you at the email address you provided to the sponsoring department.
The Secure Access Code is entered on a web page protected by SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). If validated, the record is viewed over a connection also protected by SSL (Secure Sockets Layer).
All attempts, successful and not, to view your record are logged. Numerous, unsuccessful attempts will be blocked.
How do I know the email sent to me isn't spam or that the link is safe to click?
Official CEU emails will always be sent from
ROCert@msu.edu. If you receive an email from another email address, it is not valid.
The link to view a CEU record using the Secure Access Code will always be:
https://reg.msu.edu/CertifiedDocuments/eCEU.aspx.
The same page can also be accessed from the
Office of the Registrar Home Page (https://reg.msu.edu) by
clicking on the "Student Services" tab and then the "Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Participant Records" link.
I received a copy of a CEU record, but I did not obtain it directly from the Office of the Registrar website myself. Is it official? Has it been edited in any way?
It is not official and accuracy cannot be assumed.
Will MSU report my State Board CEU record to my school district and/or the State of Michigan Department of Education?
The CEU participant is responsible for submitting their CEU records to the appropriate agencies.
What should I do if I need to access a record after 180 days and/or 20 viewings?
